WILLIAMSPORT — Police in Lycoming County charged a young man who brought a handgun inside a locker room Monday morning at Williamsport Area High School.
Investigators said the small unloaded handgun was found by the Williamsport Area School District football staff. They immediately contacted police.
Police said they have identified the person who brought the gun into the building but believe it was not brought to the school for violent purposes.
The person who brought the gun onto school property was expelled and charged.
