OLYPHANT -- A police officer in Lackawanna County was in court Monday facing charges after investigators said he lied about a prior arrest to get a job as a cop.
Authorities said Dean Argenta of Olyphant lied about a conviction during his application process to be an Olyphant police officer.
Police said he violated a protection from abuse order in 2000.
The conviction means Argenta cannot have a firearm and is not allowed to be a police officer.
