SCRANTON — Six people are out of their home after a fire in Lackawanna County.

Flames started in the basement of a double-block home on Theodore Street in Scranton around 4 a.m. Tuesday after a clothes dryer caught fire, according to fire crews.

Authorities said the six people living there got out safely but they won’t be allowed to return until an inspector checks out the property.
