DUNMORE -- Dozens turned out in Lackawanna County Sunday to support a former Marine severely hurt in a motorcycle crash.

The benefit was called "help heal Josh Sibio," a 22-year-old who served in Afghanistan. Sibio was severely injured after a motorcycle accident in May. He is now paralyzed from his chest down.

Family and friends gathered to help raise money for Sibio's medical bills. They say they can't believe there's so much support.

"It's just amazing, the turnout is amazing, far exceeded anything we thought would be today,” said Josh’s uncle John Sibio. “It's great.”

Folks came out and enjoyed live entertainment, raffles and silent auctions. They even had a good time watching one guy in a bikini get his head shaved, all to help out Sibio.

"We raised over $500 for me to get my mohawk, so here we go,” said Fred Garvey.

And while family members say Sibio's prognosis is still uncertain, he is staying positive and is thankful for all the help.

“I'm so happy and so grateful that everybody came and everybody is here supporting me, especially the turn out with the bikes,” said Josh. “I'm really happy about that."
