WILKES-BARRE -- Police in Wilkes-Barre plan to search the vehicle they believe was involved in a hit and run last month that killed a student.

Police have a search warrant that allows them to look over the pickup truck that is impounded at Wilkes-Barre police headquarters for physical evidence.

According to this search warrant, police will look for DNA, hair, and blood that match Rebecca McCallick.

McCallick, 19, was hit and killed on July 24 outside her apartment on Hazle Street in Wilkes-Barre.

The dark blue Ford F-350 was taken by police last week after someone spotted it in front of a home in Hanover Township, near Ashley. Police said the truck matches the description of the one seen in surveillance video from city cameras.

Newswatch 16 has learned the owner of the truck is Daniel Loughnane of Hanover Township.

No charges have been filed against Loughnane or anyone else.
