Man Pleads Guilty to Child Assault

MAHONING TOWNSHIP — A man pleaded guilty Monday to charges of striking a one-month-old girl last December. 

Robert Altieri, of Mahoning Township, pleaded guilty at the Montour County courthouse to simple assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

According to court papers, Altieri first lied to police in December, 2011 by saying his girlfriend’s baby sustained an accidental injury.  Police said he later confessed to losing his temper and hitting the baby with his fist.
