On a bright sunny day in State College members of the Penn State football staff along with the current team posed for pictures inside Beaver Stadium. The 2012 media day has new meaning for first year head coach Bill O'Brien.

"These are fantastic kids. We got guys that are great students. We've got guys here that love to play football. Everyday you go to work as the head coach and I can speak for my staff here we just really enjoy coaching these guys," said Bill O'Brien.

Seated next to O'Brien in the photo two local standouts Matt Stankiewitch and Matt McGloin. These two hope to be the start of something new at Penn State.

"We definitely have the chance to make some history here, but at the same time I'm not going to sit here and say we're going to go 12-0, but I can promise you that we're going to be in each and every game and have an opportunity to win each and every game," said Matt McGloin.

"New uniforms talk about the decision to have the names on the back and what that means to you? I think Coach O'Brien said it perfectly he wants the nation to know who the guys are who stick it out, and who has loyalty to Penn State and that's why we're getting the names on the back of our jerseys," said Matt Stankiewitch.

According to Coach O'Brien the offense is behind the defense at this point in camp. Which is normal for this time of the year, unless you have Tom Brady which Coach O'Brien does not have here at Penn State, but he does have the next best thing in Matt McGloin from West Scranton."

"He's definitely made of ton of progress. He's smart. He's understanding defenses better. He's understanding formations and what play we're in," again said Bill O'Brien.

"We're going to start building the offense with the offensive line. We have one returning starter. We're working real hard. We have a lot of confidence in our Coach Mac McWhorter and we're really looking forward to showing the nation what we have," said Eric Shrive.

Penn State opens up at home Saturday September 1st 2012 vs. Ohio University.
