The makers of Tastykakes have come out with four new varieties of baked goods for us to try: Red Velvet Cupcakes, Lemon Cupcakes, Chocolate Bells, and Peanut Butter Brownie Kandy Kakes.

We took all of them to a place that's known for indulgent treats: The Wayne County Fair.

For 150 years people have been going to the fairgrounds near Honesdale for rides, competition and food.

So for this week's Taste Test we found some folks who keep fair-goers well fed with grease and sugar: the vendors!

Bobby Irving sells deep-fried Oreos, elephant ears, and other goodies every year at the fair.

We had him try a Chocolate Bell, filled with white cream and covered in chocolate.

"It was nice and moist, it had chocolate on the outside and it had the creamy filling," said Irving.

We also visited the 4-H folks, in charge of organizing entries in a stiff competition.

So how did Tastykake's Lemon Cupcakes fare with the 4-H'ers?

Staff Member Courtney Swendsen said, "It had a really nice lemon flavor, and with the cake, it went down as a nice treat."

How about the Peanut Butter Brownie Kandy Kakes?

Remember.. the classic Kandy Kakes have yellow cake with the peanut butter and chocolate.

Zach Smith, a 4-H competitor, liked the new version, saying , "I think I like the chocolate better. It goes better with the peanut butter."

One of the fair directors himself loved the Chocolate Bells, and so did his grand-daughter!

"I like chocolate and it was a good kind of chocolate.  I really liked it," said fair director Allen Branning.

10-year-old Anna Branning said she loved the cream filling in the Chocolate Bell.

The only Tastykake that didn't get rave reviews was the Red Velvet Cupcakes!

Chris Jardine, Pittsburgh said, "It was ok... it was pretty dry. It definitely needs some liquid with it."

We found the new Limited Edition Taskykakes at Gerrity's for $2.69 a box.
