SCRANTON -- A fire in Scranton has been ruled arson
Jonathan Kilvitis, who lives next door to the house that was set on fire, is accused of setting the blaze at the home on Crown Avenue around 3:00 a.m. Sunday.
According to police, on Saturday night there was a physical altercation between Jonathan's father, Joseph, and one of the fire victims, Richard Clifton. Jonathan was mad about the situation, and early Sunday morning he allegedly took a bottle of nail polish remover, lit it on fire, and threw it at the fire victims' house.
The home sustained fire, smoke, and water damage. Fire officials said the two people inside made it out safely.
After an investigation, evidence pointed to Jonathan Kilvitis. He is facing arson charges.
