LONG POND -- It’s a big weekend for the Poconos as thousands of NASCAR fans have descended on Long Pond.

The Pennnyslvania 400 is Sunday at Pocono Raceway but the crowds are already here!

It`s race weekend again at the Tricky Triangle in Long Pond and NASCR fans are revved up and ready to go.

“We`ve been coming here since back in the late 70s and every year`s been an experience and it`s always been family and friends and there isn’t nothing better than that,” said Shannon Baney from Lock Haven.

The Pennsylvania 400 kicks off another round of the Sprint Cup Series at Pocono Raceway.

In the infield, diehard fans have dug in, set up camp and are ready to have fun.

“Oh my god, everybody`s in a great mood up here,” said Brian Stanikovich of Long Pond. I mean, this is what they look forward to all year, partying and having a good time and enjoying the race.”

Patrick and Carol Kurovsky are from Wilkes-Barre but couple says they`re full-time RV-er`s, traveling to NASCAR races.

But of course, Pocono is their favorite.

“To be right in your backyard, it`s awesome and it`s a great track to be at,” said Carol Kurovsky. “Lots of fun, especially in the infield.”

Of course, if you`re going to be in the infield, it`s best if you get rooftop seats. Folks out here say they get this view by being a little creative.

“I paid 25 dollars for that camper back in 1996,” said Tom Geiger from Berks County, who has been bringing this home-made camper to Poconos for years and he`s darn proud of his handy-work.

“It`s a slide-in camper and we put it on our dump trailer. Finally we put a deck on top and a railing and every year we tweak it a little bit more. We added our Dish Network satellite.  I am definitely a red-neck,” said Geiger.

Of course, when you`re NASCAR proud, you have to have the flags to prove it.

“We have my driver is Tony Stewart, my wife`s driver is Jimmy Johnson, my daughter`s is Joey Logano and my son`s is Kyle Busch,” said Rob Mormando from Long Island.

The NASCAR truck races will be held on Saturday.

The Pennsylvania 400 gets the green flag on Sunday.
