COOLBAUGH TOWNSHIP -- It took all afternoon but two people are in custody in connection with a shooting that still has one young girl in the hospital.

It was just after 2 a.m. when Pamela Perry heard gunshots she thought were coming from her backyard.

"All of a sudden, I heard a round of like six gunshots, one right after the other, no pause, no nothing in between. I froze. My dog started growling," said Perry, of Coolbaugh Township.

It was a shooting on Pocono Heights Road near Tobyhanna that put one juvenile girl in Pocono Medical Center after being shot in the head.

She was in a car with four other juveniles. They were not hurt. Police questioned and later released them, but their information led to a morning arrest.

Police aren't saying who was arrested or what the charges are.

The second arrest came later. Police pulled the suspect over at a traffic stop, but he ran from police, leading them on a four-hour chase involving blocked roads, helicopters, and a SWAT team.

It finally ended at a Pocono Country Place.

"There was a couple of times that we had some information that might have taken us away from this general area, but the officers did a very good job. They hung in there, and PSP did a great job," said Pocono Mountain Regional Police Chief Harry Lewis.

Now neighbors who heard the gunshots are worried their section at a Pocono Country Place is not as safe as they once thought.

"Now what's happening all the time in J and K section here is now dwindling down into our peaceful little B section here, and that's scary," said William Ohmact, of Coolbaugh Township.

The girl is still at Pocono Medical Center, no word on her condition. Police said the public is not in danger at this time.
