SUMMIT STATION -- The 29th annual Schuylkill County Fair is underway in Summit Station.

"It's a good place to come, it's a good family-oriented thing, you know, for the family. My whole family comes up here," laughed Don Schaeffer of Pine Grove.

There are plenty of rides, food stands, and lots to see.

Many who spoke with Newswatch 16 said in addition to being family-friendly, the annual fair is also affordable.

"It's nice, I mean, you can bring them out, it's a good family affair. There's not a lot of trouble or nothing like there is in most places. It's a really good time," said Tom Villella of New Philadelphia.

"It's fun, it's a lot of, you know, fun for the kids and whatnot and there's a lot of things for them to do here," agreed Nicole Villella.

Some said they come to the fair just to see the animals, from the bunnies to the cows to the ducks.

"My kids actually love the cows, (my daughter) obviously loves the chickens, so, they love going to the fair to see the animals. They'd rather be here than on the rides," said Vanessa Smith of Lehighton.

The fair continues through Saturday.
