PARRYVILLE -- Hundreds are still without power in one section of Carbon County that got devastated by Thursday's storm.
The Borough of Parryville, with only about 700 residents, was hit the hardest in the county.
Dozens of trees were uprooted, many trees are still blocking off the roadways while others are clogging a local creek.
Plus, utility poles are down with lines scattered, but a more impressive sight are the enormous trees simply snapped in half.
"We have close to about 75 trees down, all the major roads in Parryville are blocked," said Chief Arthur Strohl of the Parryville Volunteer Fire Company.
If you talk to people there, they`ll tell you they believe the destruction is caused by a tornado.
"Heard the wind coming and it was howling, like a freight train, it was interesting, branches started flying," said Terry Sywensky of Parryville.
"My air conditioner in the front porch was going 'boom, boom, boom, boom, boom'. It was trying to suck the air conditioner out of the window," said Robert Ahner of Parryville.
Those accounts are enough for officials to contact the national weather service, which is investigating whether a tornado actually hit in Parryville.
Right now, the main focus is making sure residents without electricity get water and ice. At Mallard Markets in Lehighton, it is one of several locations in Carbon County providing for their community. Each family can grab three bags of ice and three jugs of water, free of charge.
"It's supposed to be in the high 80s, low 90s again today and that makes it difficult for people in their homes who can't operate fans," said Mark Nalesnik, the Carbon County EMA Director.

There are several other water and ice pick up locations throughout the northeast for areas severely affected.
