UPDATE 7/28: TAYLOR -- Another person has died who was involved in a Lackawanna County crash that already claimed one life.

The county coroner said Lydia Riley, 28, of Taylor, died Friday from injuries sustained in the crash that happened Saturday, July 21.

Riley was the passenger in the car that was struck from behind on Oak Street in Taylor.

The driver, Kim Smith, of Taylor, was also killed in the wreck.

TAYLOR -- One person is dead and another rushed to the hospital with serious injuries after a crash Saturday in Lackawanna County. 

Officers said the crash happened on Oak Street in Taylor around 3:00 p.m.

Authorities said a car struck another vehicle while attempting to pass it.  Police said the stuck car went airborne and smashed into a utility pole. 

The Lackawanna County Coroner's Office said Kim Smith, 49, of Taylor was killed.

Witnesses said they saw one woman being taken from the scene in handcuffs by Taylor police.

Investigators said the woman driver who caused the deadly crash had three children passengers that were uninjured.  Police are investigating the woman may have been driving under the influence.
