SCRANTON -- Heavy thunderstorms rolled through Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania Wednesday afternoon and that made for particularly difficult conditions for thousands of rock fans in Scranton.

There was more thunder than music ringing in people's ears at the Vans Warped Tour at the Toyota Pavilion on Montage Mountain.

That and the lightning were enough to stop the bands from playing for while, but not enough to make fans leave.

"I came to Warped Tour to see some of my favorite bands and even though it's raining, I'm still having fun," said Landis Ostroski of Forty Fort.

Close to 80 bands stopped by the Toyota Pavilion in Scranton to play on eight different stages. When they were forced to stop the music, fans were sent to the amphitheater to wait out the storm.

As soon as bands started up again, so did the rain. Some performers worried they might not get to take the stage at all.

"It's been thundering and lightning out all day so kids are just running everywhere. It's like 'I wonder what's going on now. Oh they closed everything. Now they opened everything again.' It's a fun Warped Tour for sure," said Jason Vieria, a performer at the concert.

Organizers estimated 12,000 to 15,000 people came to the show. Despite the delays of more than an hour, performers still played, and fans still listened.

Fans said you don't pass up an opportunity to see all your favorite bands in one day.
