CARBONDALE -- A summertime tradition took place Sunday in Lackawanna County.

Parishioners of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Carbondale walked through the streets of the city carrying a statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

The parade in honor of the feast took about four hours.

Those who took part in the procession said the tradition of carrying the statue through the streets to celebrate the holy day began in Italy.
