K-Vest Golf Swing Analyzer
ProCare Physical in Moscow Lackawanna County was the site of my latest summer stop. We we’re meeting up with Physical therapist and Athletic Trainer Tony Andrejko to get a lesson on his new K-Vest swing analyzer for all golfers.
“What we do Steve is we take a physical evaluation of the golfer. So we look at his hip rotation, his upper body thoracic rotation, and we’ll look at strength. Then we will put you on the K-Vest and what the K-Vest is a 3D motion analysis that allows you to see exactly how your body is moving throughout the golf swing,” said Tony Andrejko.
So with that in mind Tony suited me up with the vest device. One sensor on my upper back. “I feel like a para jumper.” Another taking hip readings
“Now strap this around your waist.” And a third device on my glove hand to capture impact. We we’re ready to go.
“Swing at anytime. Swing. Hit ball. How did that feel? Good.”
Now time for the K-Vest swing results and Tony’s analysis.
“Now what do we see initially. There is a little bit of lifting up. OK. We’re losing our spine angle right off the start there so that’s certainly is something we can look at. Now that didn’t look too bad your swing at impact,” again said Tony.
For the next hour Tony worked on my alignment and my posture. I scored in the lower 30 percent range way off the numbers for PGA tour golfers. I also have trouble with pelvic rotation and separating my upper body from the lower. Tony also had me do several flexibility movements to increase my body’s range during a golf swing.
“Stretching moves..oh!.”
The K-Vest swing analyzer definitely works and being around Tony for an hour is a workout, but one that could help lower your golf score and keep your body in check.
“Thanks Tony.”
