Former FBI Director Louis Freeh will release the results of his independent probe into Penn State Thursday morning.  The university will hold a news conference in Scranton to respond sometime after that.

The university hired Freeh back in November to look into the actions of Penn State surrounding the sex abuse by Jerry Sandusky.  There has been a lot of anticipation for the release of the Freeh report.  There is a lot of speculation it will tell more about Penn State administrators and Joe Paterno’s role in an alleged cover-up of the Sandusky abuse.

The Freeh report will be available online Thursday at 9 a.m.  Freeh himself will be holding a news conference at 10 a.m. in Philadelphia to talk about the report’s findings.

Penn State said it will hold a news conference at some point on Thursday to respond to the report.  That will be held at a time to be determined, somewhere in the Scranton area.  The Board of Trustees will be in Lackawanna County Thursday and Friday for their regular summer meeting being held at the Penn State Worthington Scranton Campus.

The Paterno family issued a statement in anticipation of the release of the report.
