EAST STROUDSBURG — A woman was taken to the hospital after she was bitten by a bear Thursday night in East Stroudsburg.
State Police say Marie Kligel, 54, of East Stroudsburg was walking her dog along Great Bear Way in East Stroudsburg when a small black bear attempted to attack her dog.
She tried to stop the bear when she was scratched and bitten.
Kligel was taken to Pocono Medical Center where she was treated for her injuries.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission was notified, but the bear was not located.
