MOOSIC -- A toddler found submerged in a pool in Moosic on Friday died shortly afterwards.
Emergency crews did respond, but by the time the girl was transported to Geisinger Medical Center, it was too late.
People of the community were shocked.
"You feel immediate sorrow at the loss of such a beautiful little child, just two years old. As I said, I have a granddaughter, so I could imagine the feeling," said Dorothy Bouselli of Moosic.
Several homes along the street have above-ground swimming pools, but owners said extra caution is necessary when children are nearby.
“I do know that even when my little one is here, you can't turn your eyes off them for a minute,” said Bouselli.
An autopsy on the little girl was completed by the Lackawanna County Coroner's office. Her official cause of death was listed as accidental drowning.
