HEIDELBERG TOWNSHIP -- A deadly crash Thursday in Lehigh County claimed five lives, including two victims from the area.

Police said it happened around 2:30 p.m. in Heidelberg Township, Lehigh County when a driver ran a stop sign and slammed into a tow truck.

The horrific crash claimed a total of five lives. Four of the victims were in a Subaru. The car completely disintegrated on impact with the tow truck.

One of the victims, Cecilia Besecker, 22, of Dallas was a student at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

She and her twin sister worked at the Applebees near the Wyoming Valley  Mall.

People who worked with Cecilia called her a wonderful girl, and a hard worker. One waitress was crying inside when she learned her friend was killed.

Also killed, Mike Bruno, 23, of Catawissa, Columbia County, originally from Connecticut. He attended Southern Columbia High School and Kutztown University.

Police said the Subaru ran a stop sign and crashed into a truck that was towing a white box truck. That happened at the intersection of Bake Oven Road and Mountain Road near New Tripoli.

Three others died in this crash, including the driver of the Subaru who is a teenager from New Jersey, and another passenger.

The driver of the tow truck also died. A passenger in the tow truck survived with moderate injuries.
