Sallie Mae is a financial services company that specializes in loans for education. It's the largest of its type in the country.
The company asks people attending the job fair to bring along a resume, and be ready for a first interview. Sallie Mae representatives will be there to answer questions.
Sallie Mae first opened a call center in our area 25 years ago. It's one of the top ten employers in Luzerne County, and it currently has eight hundred people on the payroll at its Hanover Township building.
Sallie Mae has not said how much the new jobs pay, but it promises a "competitive" wage, plus a benefit package that includes paid vacations, a 401k, medical insurance, and dental insurance.
