TOWANDA — State police say they found the man who allegedly kidnapped a woman and threatened to kill an elderly couple Friday in Bradford County.

Troopers said Christopher Shulas, 34, of Ulster Township drew a weapon on a 67-year-old woman and a 68-year-old man at a home on Oakhill Road around 5:00 p.m.

Shulas then forced a 29-year-old female into a car at gunpoint and made her drive away.  The elderly couple said Shulas had numerous firearms on him when he left.

Troopers said the kidnapped woman told Shulas she needed to stop for gas and pulled into Bishop’s Gas Station on Route 220.  The victim went into the store and told employees to call police.

The employees kept the woman safe by locking Shulas out of the store.

By the time state police arrived, Shulas left the area.  They believed he fled north on Route 220.

Shulas was considered armed and dangerous.  Troopers tell us he was taken in to custody late Saturday night.
