Sara Ganim has been called courageous for her coverage of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse case.

Ganim is a Penn State graduate and one of the youngest reporters to ever win a Pulitzer Prize.

She has been in court each day of the Jerry Sandusky trial in Bellefonte.

Eight accusers took the stand during that time, telling jurors they were repeatedly sexually assaulted by the former Penn State assistant football coach.

"I don`t think there were a whole lot of surprises here, there was a lot of compelling testimony but not a whole lot of bombshells," said Ganim.

For two days of jury deliberations, Ganim and a slew of media and interested people waited.

"It`s been a long two days for everyone waiting but you`ve got to remember it`s been a long several years for some of these alleged victims, you know, some of them came forward rather recently which is a long time but think about the ones who have been keeping this a secret for 10, 20 years," said Ganim.

Ganim said the end of this trial is not the end of the drama in Centre County.

There are questions, she said, which need to be answered, questions that were not addressed during the Sandusky trial.

"Quite honestly after this trial I think the focus is going to be back on Penn State and who knew what and when did they know it and making sure that this kind of thing, whatever mistakes might have been made are never made again," said Ganim.
