Roman Quinn used his speed to help the Williamsport Crosscutters win their 2012 home opener against the State College Spikes 6-2 Monday night at Bowman Field in front of 1,878 fans.

Quinn beat out a throw to first for the first hit of the game and proceeded to second on the throwing error.

He later scored on a pass ball and another Spikes throwing error to make it 1-0 Williamsport.

The game was broadcast live on WNEP2. Starting pitcher Joshua Warner on an extended spring training start looked great thru the first half of the game.

Tyler Greene the starting second baseman and hitting ninth drove in two runs in the second inning with his triple. Greene from Boca Raton Florida is 20 years old and making his pro debut. Greene was the Phillies 2011 (11th round) draft pick.

Andy Tracy the former Lehigh Valley Iron Pig made his managerial debut for the Cutters. Tracy played for the Iron Pigs from 2008-2011 and is the all time leader in franchise history in home runs (69), doubles (80), rbi (261) and walks (207).

Conditional pick and overall pick #39 for the Phillies in 2011 Larry Greene batted fifth in the Crosscutters lineup.

Brock Stassi, Brian Pointer, Chris Serritella-Missouri Valley batting champion from Southern Illinois University hit clean-up.
