A preliminary hearing wrapped up in Monroe County concerning the death of an elderly man who went missing in February.
The judge decided Rico Herbert should go to trial.
Herbert is charged with killing Joseph Devivo, the retired East Stroudsburg school teacher who went missing last winter.
A Monroe County judge listened to testimony all afternoon and decided there that was enough evidence to send the case against Herbert to trial.
Police believe Herbert killed Devivo inside the victim's home in February. Herbert then put the body into the trunk of the Devivo's car, stole the car, and drove it to South Carolina. Police then believe Herbert dumped Devivo's body in a rural area of that state.
No date is set for Herbert's trial in Monroe County court.
