Chief James Cheshinski of the Nanticoke Police Department in Luzerne County has died.
Chief Cheshinski was a member of the Nanticoke police force almost 40 years. He was appointed patrolman in September, 1972.
Cheshinski was promoted to the rank of Detective and Captain of Operations in 1988. In April of 2003, he was promoted to Chief of Police for the City of Nanticoke.
He is survived by his wife, three children, and two grandchildren.
