A mail carrier spotted flames at a house in Luzerne County Thursday, according to police.
It happened around 3 p.m. in the 100 block of Oak Street in Pittston Township.
Authorities said the fire started in the rear of the house which had been empty for several years.
A state police fire marshal will try to figure out what sparked the fire.
