Three people were arrested after leading Luzerne County police on a chase Monday night from Wilkes-Barre to Hanover Township.

Authorities said the chase began around 11 p.m when a purple van went through a red light on South Franklin Street, Wilkes-Barre.

A police car followed the van for miles into Hanover Township.  Authorities said they saw the passenger in the van aim a gun at an officer.

The van was forced to stop for a passing train on Fellows Avenue.  Police arrested five people in the van.

Kenneth Henderson, 19, Asia Henderson, 19, and Anton Martin, 29, all of Philadelphia, were charged.

Police said Martin tossed the gun and ammunition from the van before being cornered.

Two other passengers were questioned and released.

The three arrested are locked up in Luzerne County jail.
