Three out of five men charged with kidnapping and beating a woman in December, 2010 were sentenced Monday in Luzerne County.

Ronald Cottle, 36, Timothy Buckner, 34, and Kevin Lewis, 25, all from Wilkes-Barre, previously pleaded guilty for their roles in the assault and kidnapping of Joan Rosengrant.

Cottle received 12 years, Buckner received four to eight years, and Lewis was sentenced up to four and a half years.

The other two men, Lee Bernsdorf, 27, and Young Williams, 40, also from Wilkes-Barre, still await sentencing.

According to court documents, Rosengrant was forced into Bernsdorf’s Wilkes-Barre home where the men beat her.  Rosengrant told police the men approached her about an ex-boyfriend who allegedly robbed one of the men.

Authorities said the men punched and stunned Rosengrant and poured boiling water on her feet for an 18-hour period.

Bernsdorf and Williams are scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.
