On the first day of jury selection in the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse trial in Centre County  went quickly. By the end of the day, nine jurors had been selected to hear the trial.

Those selected to served include a number of people with ties to Penn State.

The following is a list of the jurors:

Juror 1: A mother of two daughters who works at WalMart. She said she hasn't paid much attention to the case.

Juror 2:  A 24-year-old man heading to Automotive Tech school.  His father works at Penn State.
 
Juror 3:  A middle-aged woman whose husband worked with Mike McQueary's father at medical practice. She is a PSU season ticket holder since the 1970s.
 
Juror 4:  A man from State College who works as an engineer.  He is middle aged and said he reached saturation point on case two months ago and hasn't watched coverage.
 
Juror 5:  He is a teacher at Bellefonte Area High School. he got a bachelors and masters degree from Penn State within last 10 years, He is a father of three children, including two young boys.
 
Juror 6:  A woman in her 20s who said she doesn't read newspapers or watch the news. She said she knows very little about this case. She works at company that rents apartments to Penn State students.
 
Juror 7: He will be a Penn State senior in the fall. He wore a PSU archery t-shirt to jury selection. He works for Penn State part-time and was coached by Steven Turchetta in all-star football.  Turchetta works at Central Mountain High School, one of those who turned Jerry Sandusky in the first place.  He said he had strong opinions on the case but can put them aside.
 
Juror 8:  A retired Penn State Professor who said he can be objective.
 
Juror 9:  She is a retired school bus driver in her 70s. She said initially she thought about this case that it was her duty to protect children.  She said she can put her feelings aside for this case.
 
Jury selection will resume Wednesday morning at the Centre County Courthouse in Bellefonte.
