Man Dies after Fire

One person who was injured in a fire Sunday morning in Monroe County has died.

Flames broke out around 2 a.m. in a condo at North Ridge Estates near Tannersville.

Firefighters found a man and woman inside, unconscious.

They were taken to the hospital.

Later in the day, police said the man, William Smolinsky, 89, died.

There is no word on the condition of the woman.

Troopers said the cause of the deadly fire is accidental.
