The PA Department of Environmental Protection is investigating a huge hole underneath an apartment building in Scranton.

According to the DEP’s Mine Protection Division, a 25 foot deep hole opened up in the basement of the apartment complex along Adams Avenue.

Officials said sewage is leaking into the hole. The DEP said it plans to look at the situation on Monday.

One resident at the complex said two families were displaced because of the hole.
