State police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Thursday afternoon in Clinton County.

It happened about 2:30 p.m. at First National Bank on East Main Street in Loganton.

Investigators believe a woman walked in, handed the teller a note and got away with money.

“She started running and her hat flew off. So I pulled ahead in the pickup, got out and picked her hat up. When she saw me picking the hat up she turned around and proceeded towards me, pointing the gun at me, a handgun,” said witness Earl Weaver of Earl’s Garage.

Two schools nearby were on lockdown for a short time after the crime.

State police concentrated their search for the bank robber along Interstate 80.
