A fire started in one row home in Shenandoah Wednesday morning and spread to a second before firefighters could bring it under control.

Crews were called about 10:30 a.m. to the homes in the 400 block of New York Street.

Officials said no one was in either home when the fire started and no one was hurt.

It appeared most of the damage was on the back of the houses, but the damage is so severe no one can live in the homes at this time.

There is no word at this time what caused the fire.
