Police in part of Lackawanna County want to know who stole more than two dozen American flags over Memorial Day weekend.
The Dunmore Police Chief said his department received call after call Saturday, Sunday, and Monday about missing flags.
He said officials with Dunmore High School found about 30 flags piled in the school’s parking lot on Tuesday.
Folks stopped by on Wednesday to claim their flags.
“We just happened to look outside, my husband and I, and said ‘I think the flag is missing.’ I’m just glad I got it back,” said Marianne McTague of Dunmore.
Police in Dunmore said they will examine security footage from surveillance cameras near the high school to try to catch the flag thieves.
