A man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly hiring 19 illegal immigrants in Lycoming County.
Douglas Wiggill has been charged with harboring and transporting the illegal immigrants in Williamsport in May, 2011.
If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 100 years in prison and a fine of $5 million.
Wiggill, 42, was a supervisor for GPX, a business that provided surface mapping for the oil and gas industries.
The indictment alleges GPX did not correctly verify the immigration status of 19 workers. If found guilty, GPX faces a maximum fine of $10 million.
In June, 2011, Homeland Security investigators arrested the illegal immigrants employed. Investigators learned the immigrants were staying at apartments rented for them by Wiggill and GPX.
