A crash in Scranton turned deadly on Thursday.
Authorities said it happened after 4 p.m. on the outbound lanes of the North Scranton Expressway, right near the Keyser Avenue exit.
The coroner said the victim is Karen Hoyt, 49, from South Abington Township.
Authorities said she was involved in a separate crash, and was outside of her vehicle when another car hit her.
Crews rushed her to the hospital where Hoyt died from her injuries.
Both northbound lanes were closed for over six hours, and traffic heading north out of Scranton was being diverted off of the North Scranton Expressway.
