A woman in Lackawanna County was sentenced Monday after pleading guilty to under-reporting her income on federal tax forms over a three-year period.

According to court documents, Dawn Albert, 49, of Dunmore admitted in February to tax evasion of more than $80,000 for 2005, 2006, and 2007.

Albert was sentenced to six months of house arrest, one year probation, and a $5,000 fine.  She must also pay back taxes and penalties of $173,019 to the IRS.

Albert was the operator of Medical Hair Transplant in Dickson City during the time of the evasion.  According to United States Attorney Peter J. Smith, Albert has agreed to make a full financial disclosure to the IRS and pay all remaining taxes, interest, and penalties.
