Mail Processing Centers to Close

By this time next year the mail distribution center in Scranton will close.

The U.S. Postal Service said Thursday the facility on Stafford Avenue in Scranton will shut down by February, 2013.

More than 300 people work at the facility.  It is one of more than 400 processing centers that will close nationwide.

The service counter at the post office will remain open for customers to buy stamps and mail packages.
