Some non-profit groups that work with abused children are getting money from assets seized from an admitted sex offender in Lackawanna County.

In February former radio station owner Doug Lane pleaded guilty to molesting a teenage boy.

The district attorney’s office announced Wednesday that  $500,000 is going to groups such as Friendship House, Marley’s Mission and Women’s Resource Center.

The money is in addition to $500,000 the agencies got six years ago.

The money is from the sale of radio stations owned by Lane.
