Selinsgrove Area Budget Cuts Teachers

The new budget for the Selinsgrove Area School District calls for the layoffs of 20 teachers.

The school board Monday night passed the proposed budget of nearly $36 million which means taxes will go up by about $35 for the average homeowner.

The budget in Selinsgrove also means cutting back on what is spent on various programs, athletics and extra-curricular activities.
