Two days after William Gronosky lashed out into a verbal tirade inside a courtroom in Nanticoke, police filed new charges against the man from Luzerne County.

He is now accused of firing shots at Wilkes-Barre police after he allegedly took off in off in a stolen car.  The new charges include assault on a police officer and eluding arrest.

Police said Gronosky is responsible for a crime spree in March which included burglarizing and stealing weapons from a state trooper's home, robbing a strip club, robbing a Hanover Township resident, stealing his car, fleeing from police and firing shots at them.

Also on Wednesday police arrested Gronosky's girlfriend, Ashley Evans, just outside the courtroom in Nanticoke.

Friday Evans was arraigned on charges of hindering arrest and obstruction of law.  Police said Evans picked up Gronosky in Lackawanna County after he stole a car in Hanover Township and shot at Wilkes-Barre police during a chase. According to court papers, Evans told police she listened to the chase and the shots being fired on her cell phone scanner app.

Gronosky and Evans are scheduled to have preliminary hearings later this month.  Police also said Gronosky will likely be charged for shooting at state police and another home invasion in Luzerne County.
