In the 7th annual Bob Spagna Track and Field Championships held Wednesday night at Scranton Memorial Stadium the girl's from Western Wayne captured the title with 125 points while the Scranton Prep boy's took home first place with 150 points finishing ahead of second place Valley View.

Jenn Slagus the junior discus thrower from North Pocono hit 137 feet 1 inch on her second throw of the evening. It marked the top throw in the state in AAA this season. Slagus won the discus event at the Spagna Championships and now sets here sights on the District Championships next week.

In the girl's pole vault Devan Kerecman from Holy Cross high school set a new meet record clearing 11 feet 7 inches.

Devon Strubert from North Pocono jumped 6 feet 8 inches in the high jump making it over the bar on his last attempt for the league title. John Rinaldi from Dunmore finished second with a height of 6 feet 6 inches.

Dave Sweetman from Riverside won the boy's 100 meter dash in 11.27 seconds.

Sarah Larkin from Lakeland won the girl's 100 meter dash in 12.76 seconds.

Teammate Cassidy Jenkins also from Lakeland won the girl's 100 hurdles in 15.01 seconds and placed first in the 300 intermediate hurdles.

Mike Kolcharno from Dunmore ran a great race in the boy's 110 high hurdles for the win in 15.71 seconds.

And finally Rico Galassi from Holy Cross won the boy's 3200 meter run in 9:49.
