Man Allegedly Robs Bank, then Crashes

A man is in jail, charged with robbing a bank in Luzerne County.

A thief robbed the PNC bank on Main Street in Mocanaqua just after 5 p.m. Friday.

Later that night state police were called to a motorcycle crash on Route 239 in Conyngham Township.

Troopers said the driver, Girard Kalinay of Harveys Lake, matched the description of the robber.

Troopers found a black BB-gun pistol and money scattered around the scene of the crash.

According to state police, Kalinay confessed to the crime.

Kalinay is in the Luzerne County jail.
