A former bookkeeper at a VFW post in Susquehanna County was in court Friday on charges she stole money from the organization, and she admitted she did it.
Rosemary Griffis, 45, of Nicholson pleaded guilty Friday to one count of theft.
She also agreed to pay back all of the money she stole from the VFW, more than $20,000.
Griffis admitted to stealing the more than $20,000 from the VFW in Lenox Township between 2010 and 2011.
Griffis, who worked there as a bartender and bookkeeper for more than 20 years, would cash checks made out to the organization and then pocket the money.
She admitted to using some of that money to fix her truck.
Griffis no longer works at that VFW.
She is due back in court for sentencing next month.
