A man from Lycoming County was charged Thursday with hitting a man with his car and not stopping.
Scott Allen Treese of Montoursville told police he hit something on High Street Wednesday night but didn’t stop. He said he thought he hit a dog.
Police said Treese hit Mark Jeirles, 46, of Williamsport who was walking along High Street. Jeirles was killed. Officers found damage to Treese’s car.
Investigators said Treese admitted using cocaine and drinking before driving.
He is charged with homicide by vehicle.
