A Luzerne County man is locked up after police said he threatened and hurt a woman and her three children.

Benjamin Artache, 22, of Nanticoke was charged Monday with more than 20 counts, including terroristic threats and kidnapping.

Police said Artache went to his ex-girlfriends home in Nanticoke on Friday and terrorized her and her nine, five, and two year old.  The accused allegedly had a box cutter and machete as weapons and held the four hostage all night.

Police said Artache broke the victims phone so no calls could be made to police.

Investigators said he beat his ex-girlfriend and injured the nine year old and five year old as they tried to protect their mother.

A neighbor heard yelling at the residence Saturday morning and called the police.  When officers arrived at the home they say Artache resisted arrest.

He is currently locked up in the Luzerne County jail.
