Police are investigating a deadly pedestrian accident in Luzerne County.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. Thursday at the intersection of Main and West Coal streets in Jenkins Township, near Pittston.
The coroner identified the victim as 26-year-old Timothy Pierce. Police said he was with two women at the time of the accident, but they told police they did not see Pierce get hit.
Police said the driver told them Pierce was already lying in the road when he turned down the street.
No charges are expected to be filed.
Officials are waiting for toxicology results.
