A man from Luzerne County pleaded guilty Thursday in Wayne County for sexually assaulting two young boys he baby sat in the mid 1990s.
The man is already locked up in Luzerne County on similar charges.
Newswatch 16 was there when Vito Russo of Duryea was led into the Wayne County Courthouse in Honesdale where he pleaded guilty to charges of indecent assault.
Russo admits sexually assaulting two young boys back in the mid 90s.
According to court papers, Russo's two victims met with state police in January to report what happened to them inside a home in Lake Ariel. The boys were 15 and 7 at the time.
The victims said they met Russo when they would go with their parents to the Country Auction near Lake Ariel.
Eventually the parents trusted Russo to babysit the boys. The victims say that's when he touched them and made them touch him.
The victims also told police that Russo sexually assaulted them while at the Country Auction.
"I think it's horrifying," said Samantha Vazquez-Morena of Honesdale.
Vazquez-Morena is a mother of two and said she's appalled to hear Russo assaulted the two boys years ago, however she is glad the boys came forward.
"I used to work with abuse victims. You don't remember, or it comes later on. They usually don't know what happened and they can't understand it. They think they were wrong," said Vazquez-Morena.
The next step in Wayne County for Vito Russo is sentencing on the indecent assault charges that he pleaded guilty to Thursday.
Vito Russo is also expected to appear in Luzerne County Court to face similar charges.
He is locked up in the Luzerne County Courthouse.
